Project Child Leadership Frank and Lourdes Valladares, our Executive Directors, are the founders of Project Child. Frank is an immigration attorney in St Petersburg. Lourdes, a former elementary school teacher, devotes her time and energy to being a mother of two and to building the ministry of Project Child. Both were born in Cuba and are excellent speakers in English or Spanish. After seeing the despicable conditions of special needs children in the orphanages around Santo Domingo (see Why PC?), they formed Project Child in September of 1999. They began organizing mission trips to the Dominican Republic, taking teams of doctors and nurses to care for forgotten children in several orphanages. (see Our History).

The Project Child USA Board Members are all St Petersburg area residents and active Christians. They meet every month to provide the financial, spiritual, and program oversight to the work.
