January 28: Thank you for your prayers during our fact-finding trip to DR and Haiti. As we prepare for our return to Florida on Friday, we have already taken the necessary steps required by the Dominican government to be one of their approved orphanages to receive children from Haiti and give them a permanent home in Casa de Luz. From the Haiti side, we are waiting to hear from UNICEF about which steps to take. New information will be posted as it develops. January 24: Co-Founder Lourdes Valladares, Board members John Colbert, Paul Colbert and a volunteer from Miami, Summer Berge depart for Santo Domingo today where they will meet with a medical team on Tuesday going to Haiti and bring back to Casa de Luz Children's Home (Santo Domingo) orphaned children that are handicapped.
Please make a donation today to help us hire additional caregivers for the children and give many children a safe, loving home.

What We Do We operate Casa de Luz (House of Light residential home for special needs children in a suburb of Santo Domingo. Presently, we have 20 children ages 4 to 20 who receive 24/7 care and love from our staff. We lead several mission teams each year from the US to love the children, provide manual labor, and do other outreach in the community. Click Here to here what a recent first-time visitor/donor says about Casa de Luz and the children. |

 | Donors and VolunteersMuch of Project Child's mission is accomplished by our donors and volunteers. Donors provide funding and needed items. Volunteers do office work and fundraising projects in the US and may go to Casa de Luz on a team organized by their school, church, or other organizational group. Project Child is volunteer-powered!
